The moon and its symbolism has fascinated mankind since the beginning of time. It has taught us moon cycles, aiding us in learning how to measure time. The full moon has illuminated our nights, and been the center of attention for both the heart and the mind. We’ve seen many a lunar eclipse, as well, but tonight’s is special. Tonight is a tetrad eclipse, also known as a “blood moon”.
Tetrad Blood Moon
How does a tetrad eclipse differ from others? An eclipse can be partial, or it can be a full eclipse. In this case this full eclipse displays with a red glow.
Is there significant meaning to the tetrad eclipse of the moon? Just the name “blood moon” inspires thoughts of unfortunate events to follow. The bible speaks out of the blood moon, as a prediction of the coming of the lord. These blood moons come and go, and life goes on.
How often do we see these tetrad eclipses? Not often. Hundreds of years can pass between them, but as for our present times, the next will be seen in 2032.
On April 15, 2014, look outward around 12:50 a.m EST, and you will see the start of this eclipse.
Lunar Eclipse and Intuitive Meaning
It’s been believed and confirmed that the moon and its cycles affects us all. Lunacy is named after the mental influence by the full moon. Do other cycles of the moon also have an impact on our human experience?
Cycles do exist, even with something as simple as our sleep cycles. There are many other cycles we experience as well, individually, culturally, and globally.
What does an eclipse mean to you, especially one that is illuminated like this reddish “blood moon”? While this visual event may not shift our world in a way we would recognize, this event could be used for a personal, intuitive change. What is there in your life that may have been seen in your everyday world that you want to illuminate and release at this time? You don’t need to have conscious awareness, but you can meditate and set the intent for this gentle, quick shift within your life.
Buddha said “Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”
Is the moon a symbol of the life of man? Mark Twain shared his own thoughts: “Every one is a moon, and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody” Ah, yes, well let’s move on, right?
My favorite quote is this lovely, intuitive quote by Mother Teresa: “See how nature – trees, flowers, grass – grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence…we need silence to be able to touch souls.”
