Mindful meditation could be described as meditation that is guided by a certain thought. Call it a topic, a keyword, or whatever you want, we all have the ability to focus our attention on a thought or feeling. One of the purposes of meditation is to focus your energy, and the rule of thumb is “where your attention goes, your energy flows.” You can use mindful meditation as gentle guidance in your own self awareness and healing time.
Rumi Mindful Meditation
Here’s a few inspiring Rumi quotes, sequenced as guidance with the intent of a healing shift in energy. I’ll leave it to you to choose how long you spend with each of these four “steps”, and how deep you go in your own meditation process.
“These pains you feel are messengers. Listen to them.”
“Be melting snow. Wash yourself of yourself.”
“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”
“Respond to every call that excites your spirit.”
Here’s another suggestion for your transformational healing mindful meditation: try role playing. Seriously? Yes. Find your topic, it could be a feeling you have, something you can’t quite put into words, or an experience you want to get over. Once you have your topic imagine your topic to be in front of you, and you are your best friend. Listen and respond with support, love, compassion, and forgiveness. Now go back through these Rumi thoughts, sharing these words with your “friend”.
Meditation is a great way to set a new course in your journey, or in other words, reset your thinking. You are your greatest motivator and influence, and when it comes down to making the right choices, It’s the thought that counts!
Meditation and Change
What is one of the greatest powers we have as humans? It is the ability to change. There are so many words for change: healing, transformation, personal growth, energy shifts, and so many more. What other words can you think of that describe a shift in energy?
Sometimes you might ask, “Why do these things happen to me?” It’s all about experience, and our ability to make choices. At times you might find yourself feeling stuck in a certain thought or feeling, and it can feel overwhelming. When you finally come to terms, either through understanding, forgiveness, or desire to change things, the shift in energy can be amazing. Life is not meant to be a sleep-walking session, it is filled with highs and lows, and so many opportunities to feel, learn and grow.
One more Rumi quote for your Mindful Meditation
“God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches by means of opposites so that you will have two wings to fly, not one”
Have a wonderful Rumi inspired mindful meditation!
