The Chinese New Year parade is one event which is dearest to the heart of the Chinese culture. The fancy spectacle which is part of the parade goes to prove how much the Chinese people are aware of their past traditions and how they like to show to the whole world what they mean to them. Parades are the best way to prove this point to the whole world.

History of the Chinese New Year

The background of the Chinese culture expands over five thousands years. These years are filled with various mysterious and intriguing phases that give the Chinese culture its color. The fact that the extensive history of the country has such strong traditions makes the locals take real pride in their cultural heritage.

Today you will find the New Year parade showcasing all those ancient traditions and mixing them up with a modern flavor in order to bridge the difference. The bringing back of ancient traditions serves as a great tourist attracting feature to which the modern amenities are added in order to make them comfortable. In the modern time Chinese New Year parade has become an event which gets world wide recognition and people from all over the world come to China to see the programs and not limited to the neighboring countries. The rest of the world watches it on television.

Chinese New Year Parade – Culture and Artistry

The parade is a mix of thrilling performances as well as a display of the artistry present in the Chinese culture. Gorgeous and elaborately designed floats can be seen drifting along with the parade with fancy costumes along with the dragons and lions.

The New Year parade in China is all about colorful pageantry and loud noise made by the firecrackers. The firework bursting which an integral part of the parade makes enormous amount of noise and people actually enjoy it and no one is concerned about noise pollution.

The dragon dance is the ultimate celebration of Chinese New Year parade. This puppet is approximately hundred feet in height and is made of silk, paper and bamboo. The whole dragon puppet is then held up by the young men and women and made to dance to the beats of gongs and drums.
