The fame of the oldest religion in the world goes to Hindu religion. Unlike other religions, Hindu religion has many Goddesses and Gods. Hinduism is referred to as Apauruseya, which means its origin doesn’t have any relation to individuals. This is also how Hindu gods are referred to . Hinduism has several deities but all deities are different forms of the supreme power. Brahman is the supreme power in this universe.
The Concept of God in Hindu Scriptures
Holy texts in Hindu religion describe the idea of God. As he is the supreme power in the universe, everything that happens must be known to him. Love, justice and beauty are parts of him. He is the creator of this universe, so he is always ready to bless the living and non-living beings and shower his grace on them. According to Rigveda 11 Rudras, 12 Adityas, eight Vasus, Indra and Prajapathi are rulers of all living and non-living beings on Earth, the Space and the Heaven. The sacred Scripture also says that even though there are different deities present in Hindu religion, the absolute power is one.
Hinduism explains two philosophies called Ishta Devaa and Adhikaara, as per which devotees can choose any deity who can satisfy their spiritual needs. To seek answers to the spiritual questions one has, he can follow any deity.
Main Gods in Hindu Religion
There are a lot of gods and goddesses and one can not classify or arrange them in any manner. But Hinduism projects Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu to be performing destruction, creation and preservation of the world, which are important processes in the universe.
