In Reiki Training, a beginner is guided by an erudite Reiki Master. Though a teacher-student relationship exists, this learning process does not take place in classrooms. Powers are instead transferred from the palms of the Master in Reiki Training to the palms of the recipient just like the way the healing process takes place.
Reiki Attunement process occurs when the Master transfers the capability to access energies of the Universe and then utilize it by focusing it on a specific part of another body. This ritual is the essence of the Reiki Training. From here on, the reiki student can control energies through his palms on his own getting better with practice and experience.
There are three principal degrees by which attunement or Reiki Training occurs. In the First Degree, one learns various theories, concepts and understands the idea of Reiki with exposure to the basic hand positions. In the Second Degree, one advances onto learning symbols and how to practice ‘distant healing’. Distant healing allows the apprentice to heal even if they are in different locations.
In the last degree of this Reiki Training, students become Masters themselves. They become experts at using one or more symbols and are empowered with the abilities from their Masters. They can now control advanced Reiki symbols becoming experts in the art of healing with experience and practice. They are now eligible to teach Reiki and empower others through Reiki training for beginners.
Reiki Training happens in a systematized manner, in which, there are two parts. Firstly, the Reiki Master stands at the back of the Student, raises his left palm in order to access the infinite energy of the universe and uses his right hand to draw Reiki symbols on the crown of the head of the recipient with great concentration and meditation.
In the second segment of Reiki Training, the master comes to the front. By stroking, tapping, chanting and the like, the Master focuses on the 3rd eye region and palms of the student. Yet again, he draws symbols, uses hand techniques like tapping when he is deep in meditation. This process is carried out around the 3rd eye region also.
The Reiki Master then visualizes the ‘Master Violet’ symbol in his left and right palms and transfers it into the recipient’s right and left palms respectively, by stroking and tapping all the while. Then he imagines ‘Master Violet’ in-between both the palms of the Recipient and brings them together by joining them. The Master virtually transfers his power and skill and finally bows down to the Recipient, humbly distinguishing his newly acquired powers. The recipient’s Reiki Training is now complete and he is now a an adept practitioner of Reiki with the power to heal others.
