How’s this for a turn of the clock, having back-to-back combinations that cannot be denied! How often do we get such a combination, after all? Yes I know the answer, but let’s have a little fun.
If you read my post yesterday about 1-10-11 we explored the Mayan calendar and we talked about our own depth, realizing that looking only at the surface can sometimes just be an illusion. It is time for us to recognize our depth and completeness, and as we do so we become more empowered and become a stronger asset to those around us. A broken spirit may be easy to control, but look at both the cost and the loss. How will we ever make any progress supporting a “broken system”? We can look at some of the expressions that negativity display the number 1, hearing that one is the loneliest number, and that success comes through one-up-man-ship.
Today we have the combination of 1/11/11, with five instances of the number one. When we turn to the Mayan calendar we see the combination of nine and Oc, the dog, a sign of loyalty and commitment.
The number nine in the Mayan calendar represents a spiritual achievement, and I interpret this as an affirmation or declaration of our commitment to our own spiritual path. What a connection we have to the glyph of today, Oc the dog, with loyalty and commitment. Anyone can set a plan or a goal, but how often do we stay with our dream and take the actions needed to realize those dreams. Oc is the sign of “staying with it”, which to me means an alliance between spirit, the creator, and the body, the one who takes each step along the way. Nine is a sign of our maturity as a spirit.
Let’s go back to the five instances of one in today’s date in it’s “casual” or commonly used form of 1/11/11: we see the number five, which is one of change but also the turmoil that comes as we wake up to a new level and have to find our way out of the questions we have created. Staying where we were may seem safe, at least we know what to expect, but we cannot stay in the same place forever. Change is good, at least when it comes one step at a time, and when you have 1/11/11 I would say we have permission to take those baby-steps.
Today is just another day, but it can be symbolic as well. We can have both worlds, the one where we wake up and recognize everything around us. We can also wake up knowing that something new is on the horizon. The great part of it is that it is not new, it’s something that has been forming for a while now, and we’ve all played a part in it. We have 1/1/10, 1/10/10, 1/11/10, and so on. Nine instances of all “ones” for 2010, and we are well on our way to seeing nine for 2011. Nine – the number today in the Mayan calendar. It all fits together.
