Healing The Whole Body With Alternative and Complementary Medicines

Getting sick is a normal part of life; an accident is something we try to avoid but it does happen especially when least expected. Injury or sickness requires treatment and healings, often though we rely too heavily on conventional methods of treatment by going to the doctor and getting prescription medicines. Though the conventional way of doing things are nice and good, we often seem to over look other types of safe and effective means of treatments that have been used for generations; they are referred as complementary or alternative medicines. Homeopathy, aromatherapy and acupuncture are good example of complementary and alternative medicines.

When it comes to treatment, there are two main categories: complementary and alternative treatments. When you use therapies such as acupuncture or homeopathy in addition to conventional medical treatment, the treatments are referred to as being complementary. Alternative medicine, on the other hand, uses acupuncture, homeopathy, and other holistic treatments instead of conventional medical treatment. Whether chose complementary or alternative, many of these treatments are considered holistic in nature, because they treat the whole person, rather than simply addressing their symptoms.

4 Types of Complementary and Alternative Medicine:

What does Acupuncture mean?

Acupuncture, once considered an alternative therapy has become fairly mainstream over the last decade or two, so much so that many insurance companies provide coverage for this treatment. Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely fine needles into pressure points area of the body, which are chosen depending on symptoms the patient experiences etc. Acupuncture can relieve pain, stress, inflammation, and other symptoms, and is virtually free from side effects.

Aromatherapy message:

The use of massage oils and other types of body fragrances to therapeutically calm and relax the body, muscles, and the soul of the patient is known as aromatherapy. To improve one’s mental and physical wellbeing, trained aroma therapists uses combination of body sensitive fragrances and massage oils to massage the body, often putting more pressure to certain areas of the body known to have certain degrees of sensory receptors that would boost energy, body and mental spirit.

What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is based on the principle of treating the whole person and not the illness. In other words, when you visit a homeopathic physician, they will prescribe for you a remedy that, in a healthy person, would cause the symptoms you are experiencing to dissipate. Homeopathy can be remarkably effective, but it can take some time for a homeopathic physician to determine exactly the type of remedy you need.

Naturopathy

Naturopathic medicine is a holistic system of medical treatment which focuses on using natural remedies, in conjunction with the body’s own power to heal itself, to promote good physical and emotional health, and overall well-being. Remedies used in naturopathy are often plant based, and may also involve treatments such as acupuncture, massage therapy, and color therapy.

Complementary and alternative medicines are now recognized world-over, not only about their holistic nature, but also about the power and effective cure they provide.  Want to find out more about online medicine, then visit Ben Paul’s site for more info, or checkout skelaxin for more related info.
