The date 10-10-10 is quickly approaching, and for a lot of people it will be “just another day”. Some may ask, is there significance to this alignment of numbers, like the upcoming alignment of the planets that is said to take place on December 21, 2012? Is there some intuitive meaning to this 10-10-10 on a spiritual or metaphysical level?
Since the beginning of time mankind has watched with a keen eye for signs as a means for survival. Eventually the use of those signs changed to a means of making better, more prosperous choices. At times, too, signs have been warnings or omens, pointing to the dangers and downfalls ahead.
Astrology in the world today is used for predicting a persons future or the flow of energies that will affect our day. Mercury is known to reek havoc within its retrograde cycles, and many plan their purchases or business decisions based on these astrological signs.
We also tie in astrological signs to our days, reading horoscopes that give us a glimmer of meaning in our lives. It’s interesting the way this works, for our gregorian calendar is not based on symbolic meaning, solar or moon cycles, but on creating a means to communicating about or measuring time.
We’ve used the moon for signs, knowing the lunacy that comes with a full moon, and have used the full moon to guide us in planting crops as well as harvesting. Is there truth to these superstitions?
During the full moon the fluids of a plant flow more freely and abundantly through the leaves, giving the plant more “life” or energy. In the progression toward the new moon those energies subside into the roots. If I wanted the best from my harvest I think I would choose the day that the plant was at its best, and if I wanted only roots I would choose the new moon for the best quality.
