Traced back far enough it can be seen – we all come from the same place. Where we have travelled since the beginning of time is what makes us unique. Over time each life has turned in its own chosen direction, sometimes taking a path that made that species stronger, and sometimes taking a path that would lead to extinction. Macro evolution, the theory that things “come and go”.
If we take the theories of evolution and apply those theories to our own life, we can see that evolution takes place within a lifetime. We begin as a single cell, and grow in so many ways, creating bones, organs, skin, each coming from the same place yet miraculously moving in their individual direction to perform a specific task. Then we move from the inner sanctuary, and integrate into the bigger world, with success found when we live harmoniously. Look back far enough, and again we find the universal common descent theory, that all things in life are related. How can we be related, yet so individual?
Taking another step in our own evolution we can find connections between these theories of evolution and our day-to-day world. We grow and prosper through communication and exchange. If an idea serves a purpose, or fills a need, it too will grow. Our creations are in a sense our offspring. Should the idea fall short, or fail to serve then by the natural order it will fade away. A career or a relationship could be viewed as a macro evolution. We could parallel a series of lifetimes that leads to evolution for a species to our own life, with each interaction giving us opportunity to adapt and grow. We make choices that either perpetuate the species or lead to the end of the road.
We also apply the idea of grouping in our day-to-day lives, gravitating to those who share common goals or beliefs. Our evolution of thought grows upon those common beliefs, evolving over time just like the transition from dinosaur to bird. Our responses to the events of everyday life are not random, they are based on a long string of experiences and information acquired over time.
Intuitive Meaning is happy to present the first in a series of videos about evolution that inspired this article. We will expand on this topic of spiritual evolution as we look more closely at our physical existence.
