The first statue I heard of n I know of is Guan Yin in Thailand back when I was a child.
Guan Yin came into my dreams a few times standing by the beautiful river or lake of clear water n has many small collectible rocks. She smiles at me n spoken a few words to me. Her presence was peaceful.

What I’d like to know is: Is the sirene Lady called Quan Yin or Guan Yin? Is it actually Guan Yin in China but as qu in English sounds the same as the gu in Mandarin the spelling changed in UK/Usa, or are they different virsions of the names and She is called (written phonetically): Kwan Yin and Tchwan Yin [Guan YIn and Quan Yin]. Can anybody help?

There is no direct english translation for the way Chinese pronounce Quan or Guan so it’s spelled different ways. It’s kind of sounds like Kwan but it’s got a soft side to it so you could spell it Guan.
