How To Become A Reiki Master

A reiki master is a person who has been able to reach the peak in the practice of reiki. Thus, he is the most knowledgeable in this ancient palm healing technique He is the one who can control the advanced reiki symbols for accessing the infinite positive energy of the cosmos so as to transmit it through his palms in order to heal another person.

A reiki master is also a teacher. He can attune and teach his pupils the art of reiki. This is not done in typical classrooms. Rather, it is done from the teacher to the student in the same manner as the Reiki master heals his patients by transferring energy. This process known as Reiki attunement can only be done by a Reiki Master.

The two words, ‘Rei’ and ‘Ki’ make up the word Reiki where Rei means Universal and Ki means Life Force Energy. This is the ancient Tibetan way of palm healing. This technique was popularized by Dr Mkao Usui in the ’90′s. The Reiki Mater can access the infinite positive energy of the cosmos and then through his palms can channelize it to other human bodies and thus open or balance the seven energy meridians or chakras in the human body which are located in-between the base of the spine to the crown of the head.

There are two ways in which a reiki master can heal an individual. He may resort to localized reiki healing for some specific parts of a person’s body that are malfunctioning or diseased. He may also use various hand positions to transmit energy for a whole body treatment. If any of the seven chakras in a body is blocked or under-functioning, they can be identified now and thereafter opened to heal a person physically, mentally psychologically and spiritually.

Reiki attunement for the practitioners is done by reiki masters in three levels. Knowledge about basic theories and other practices is imparted in the first level, known as Shoden in Japanese. The reiki master educates the trainees of various hand positions which can be used for healing others. The reiki master decides the duration of this level.

Known as Shokuden in Japanese, the second level of Reiki attunement involves the Reiki master training his pupil on the various Reiki symbols so as to empower the healing process which facilitates the energy flow. The pupil learns how to connect the energy flow from the cosmos to the diseased person’s body. At the end of this level the pupil would be able to heal others across time and space.

The third and the final level of Reiki Master training or Shinpiden, results in the student becoming the Reiki master himself with an ability to attune others in the art. it involves the knowledge of advanced Reiki symbols and control over them for the ultimate healing abilities. After the Reiki master attunes the experienced practitioner, the latter becomes one himself becoming an expert in the art.

A Reiki master is the person who is the expert in all healing purposes and he is the one who attunes other practitioners in the same art using his palms, drawing symbols, stroking, blowing, chanting and tapping in process. Thus, it can be concluded that the Reiki Master is the most crucial person or the main pillar in the practice of Reiki and through him this divine and spiritual tool of human wellbeing lives on.
