The Gnostic Gospels were documents created in the 2nd century A.D., well after Jesus walked the earth. In this video there are more questions asked than answers given, giving us room to find our own interpretation and intuitive meaning.
We begin with the view of the Gnostics relating to the feminine, in a time and culture that did not honor females let alone recognize the divine feminine nature. The video jumps from this insight to the Book of Thomas, then to the humanity side of Jesus. No conclusions are given, other than to reference our current day accepted collections of writings known as the Bible.
The idea behind this video appears to be in its first few moments, with the intent to dispel the beliefs of that time in the Gnostic world as cultural rather than a spiritual truth.
Let’s take a moment and look at the meaning of Gnostic:
- Gnostic is a greek word meaning “knowledge”
- The Gnostic movement was diverse, though the common belief was that the cosmos was created by an imperfect god
- Gnostic documents dated back to the 2nd century, but the movement itself is thought to date back before the days of Jesus.
