You may already know the transformative power of EFT Tapping, or Emotional Freedom Tapping. After a short learning period, you have an amazing tool that you can use yourself to help create a life of joy, health, peace and abundance.
Most people don’t know about the power of using the method of tuning into your body while tapping. For such a simple technique, it’s surprisingly effective.
Emotions and the Body
Your body is where emotions are felt. When you experience an emotion it’s the physical sensation that first informs you.
An example: You feel anxious. What is your first clue? Your heart speeds up. Your palms get wet. Your muscles contract.
How Do You Do It?
Slow down and tune in to your body when you’re feeling upset. Do a quick scan, looking for any places that feel tight, constricted or in pain. Notice how your breathing feels.
Now start tapping. Tap the eyebrow point, side of eye, under the eye, under the nose, chin, collarbone, under the arm and the top of your head.
Tap as long or as short at each point as you want. Keep noticing your body while you tap.
When you complete several, pause and take a deep breath.
Again, notice how your body feels. If your belly was tight before and your breath was constricted, tune into your belly and chest. Notice your breath again.
Continue the process until all the previous emotion-related body discomfort is relaxed.
When to Use this Body Tapping Technique
This is a great tapping technique to use when you want the benefits of tapping, but you’re just too lazy.
It’s also an effective method if you feel a little insecure about what to say while tapping.
Traumatic events can require skill and sensitivity to resolve. It can be harmful to get swamped with emotion and re-experience the trauma. This feeling and tapping method can be much more gentle, while still helping clear the issue.
Next time you have an uncomfortable emotion, try tuning into your body and doing EFT tapping. Just notice your body and tap.
