Chakra is a Sanskrit word that translates as turning or wheel. The Chakras are known as the centers of forces which permeate from a point on the physical body.
There are seven main chakras and other small chakras.
Muladhara- Base or Root Chakra; Swadhisthana – ovaries/prostate; Manipura- Solar Plexus Chakra which is at the navel area; Anahata – Heart Chakra located at the heart area; Vishuddha – Throat Chakra located at throat and neck area; Ajna – Brow or Third Eye Chakra;Sahasrara – Crown Chakra at the top of the head
The beginning of the chakras is at the base of the spine and finish at the top of the head. Even though the chakras are fixed in the central spinal column location is on both the front and body and work through it.
There are different vibrating speeds of the chakra. Slowest speed is at the root or the first chakra. At the crown or seventh chakra the speed is at the highest. Each chakra gets stimulated on its own. Chakras colors are the vibgyor colors which are violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red.
Size and brightness of the chakras vary and this depends on individual development, physical condition, energy levels, disease and/or stress.
Either with imbalance of the chakras or blocked energies the force gets slowed down. A constant balance should be maintained between health and the chakras for promotion of sense of well being.
When we block our feeling or stop natural flow of energy, we start reacting to unpleasant experiences. Development and maturation of chakras gets impacted due to this. Chakras are blocked if we block our experiences. Chakras then get disfigured. During normal functioning each chakra will open and spin clockwise to metabolize the particular energies desirable from the universal field of energy.
