Here is one simple way to meditate. You want to be comfortable so sit or lie down, and then close your eyes. Start at your toes and work your way up to your head, focus on each part of your body as you move up, imagine the stress leaving each body part. Once you are done with that start to concentrate on your breathing and start to watch and listen to it. Take some deep breaths in through your nose, and then start to breathe in a normal fashion.

This puts your body in total relaxation if it is done right. Many people do this in bed to help relax and fall asleep at night. This can be a benefit to you because you do not have to use a medication to help you sleep. It also is good for the muscles as they are held taught until you relax them one by one. It is good for your heart, because less stress is a good thing for your overall health.

Meditation can help you spiritually, by letting you spend this time focusing on your beliefs. This was the original use of meditation, but it also calms the souls as they say. This is the outlet to expel you bad feelings and let in the good ones.

Meditation is also good for a person who is spiritual as this is a good time to get in touch with your spiritual beliefs and feelings and contemplate your life and things that you can change about it. Meditation can be used for many things that trouble a person, and it is free, and simple to learn. You just need yourself, and a focal point.
