Lot of people after seeing an intense dream get very curious about what it means, after all that emotion, all that imagery must mean something. The next day they are out there asking the people closest to them about the meaning of their dream.
Well here is what happens; you tell your friend hoping for some insight, you get nothing but a “wow that is strange” or something to that effect, ultimately you end up with having no clue and over time it just becomes the strange dream you once had.
OK so the “real” dream interpretation is done by therapists who are trained in a particular method. It is done over a period of time and many dreams are interpreted. The therapist starts by teaching the person to write his or her dreams down and bring them to the sessions. There the dreams are interpreted and discussed.
This is fundamentally different than just having a fleeting interest in an intense dream you had. This type of work with a therapist is done to get to some insight, to cause some clarity around what is really going on with the person. Having gone through this personally over 30 years ago, I can attest that it has been one of the very eyeopening experiments in my life.
So the bottom line is this; You might have an interest in what last night’s intense dream meant but if you don’t have anything major you are dealing with in your life, there is really not much value in interpreting it. Just enjoy the time when you share it with a close friend in your life. That has more value than really finding out what that dream meant.
