As stated in the first article in this series, the point of the body that is furthest from the heart is your feet. We also have gravity working for us, which means that energy as well as toxins can accumulate in our extremities.
I remember a healing technique I learned about 30 years ago, called a sick-bed healing technique. In this technique the healing energies were flowed into the recipient through the feet while they supine position (laying flat facing up). This was a gentle healing technique, giving them only what they were able to assimilate.
In aromatherapy I recollect reading that for those who may be more sensitive or reactive to essential oils and carriers that the safest place to treat them is through the feet. Combined with reflexology, this simple act of receiving can ripple through the entire body.
We have many energy meridian points in our feet, and we can clear those points and the associated line of meridian points with a combination of thought and action.
Here’s a simple idea that takes only 20 minutes, giving you plenty of time to relax, release and replenish. We utilize EFT tapping, but if you don’t know the tapping points you can still hold the concept and intent, and task your feet to carry out the release.
- Prepare a foot soak, with clean water that is warm but not scalding. Use enough water to cover your feet, and I like to include ankles as well, since we can store a lot water called edema in our ankles. Add salt, 1/4 cup, and you can add epsom salts and baking soda as well.
- Start your soak, at least 15 minutes in duration so your body can release, and start your EFT tapping with the thought, “Any negative energy is absorbed by the salts”, holding the image of the energies from head to toe falling into the water, becoming quickly embraced by the salts. Once this intention is set you can shorten the phrase to “release”.
- Do another set of tapping to set a new “energy level” with the phrase, “I am fully aligned through grace in body, mind, emotion and spirit”. Once this intention is set you can shorten the phrase to “align”.
- Finally, finish with a tapping session with a replenishing phrase, “I am balanced in support of my spiritual path. I am complete and supported by the universe”. Once this intention is set you can shorten the phrase to “complete”.
- With each tapping session taking about 5 minutes, you can see how easy it is to fit three tapping rounds into your 15 minute foot soak. Check the clock, allowing your full 15 minute soak. Dry off your feet, enjoy a glass of clean drinking water, and smile.
